If you're a child of the '80s like us, your parents probably read Where the Wild Things Are to you about a gazillion times (okay, or '70s too). When we found out Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich) was directing a live-action film, we were so excited. Until...all the fuck ups surrounding the cut and release date starting swirling about. Sigh.
But, color us surprised and excited again when EW announced today that the long-plagued flick FINALLY has a release date.
The big-screen adaptation of Maurice Sendak's classic children's tale will hit theaters on October 16, 2009 -- almost a year after it was originally scheduled to open.
