Although I made a list of all the movies I want to see from now until the end of December—which totaled around 20, thankyouverymuch—I was still worried about Greg and my lists being identical. Thankfully, I’m too much of a girl for that, and luckily for you Movie Pressers, it includes nary a post-apocalyptic flick, unless you count Couples Retreat.
Read below to check out the top five films I’m dying to see this fall. Did your most anticipated movie make the list?

Where the Wild Things Are
October 16
What person over the age of 20 doesn’t remember reading this book as a child? So there’s already an anticipation built in, but you add in the anticipation of, say, the past couple of years as Spike Jonze and the studio battled over which version would see the light of day and you have yourself a film that has cockteased us all...and its got beautiful trailers to boot. Cannot. Wait.

Couples Retreat
October 19
Amidst all the weepy, arty, dramatic fair, I need some laughs. What better chances at laughter do I have this fall than with the combined forces of Jon Favreau, Jason Bateman, Vince Vaughn, and Kristen Bell? None. There are no better chances. It’s like a dream team assembled under Peter Billingsley’s direction, and I’m ready to laugh.

Fantastic Mr. Fox

Okay, watch the trailer below. It’s like Wes Anderson somehow captured his kooky and quirky sense of humor and put it onto cute and adorable animated creatures. Couple this with beloved child author Roald Dahl, and you have a cute little flick. Oh, wait did I mention that George Clooney, Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, AND Meryl Streep are lending their voices? Ummm…yeah. That’s fantastic, indeed.

Even if you hate Rob Marshall’s directing abilities, you cannot deny the quality of star power in this movie. I was at first sad when Javier Bardem bowed out, but when Daniel Day-Lewis stepped in, my jaw dropped. The Oscar-winning talent in this film is insane. Let’s list it for you: Dame Judi Dench, Sophia Loren, Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz… It makes up for the fact Kate Hudson is in this. And listen to “Be Italian” in the trailer. That’s Fergie! And the song is good!

Sherlock Holmes

Yada yada yada. I love Guy Ritchie. I love RDj. I love Jude Law and his receding hairline. I even love Rachel McAdams. This looks awesome. Unless you’ve been under a rock for the past year, you already know about this film, watched the trailer a million times, and are already in line for tickets.

Guilty Pleasure
Did You Hear About the Morgans?
December 18
While my SYTYCD fetish almost chose Fame, I couldn’t resist the combined power of Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker in a cute-looking romantic comedy about a NYC power couple on the brink of divorce who witness a murder and must join the Witness Protection program in Wyoming. Seriously. Watch the trailer and just admit that it's cute.
