Writer-director Wes Anderson is in search of a best friend, rather un meilleur ami. No that's not me, or Wes, being pretentious. It's the current film adaptation he is working on.
Mon meilleur ami is the story of a friendless antiques dealer who overhears some folks at a dinner party discussing his less than favorable traits. He then makes a bet with a business partner to produce a friend within ten days, so he hires a charming cab driver to pose as his lifelong friend.
Anderson currently is only on tap for scripting duties but word is he could be in line for the director chair as well.
Thoughts? Anyone excited Anderson is going to adapting from source material instead of one of his originals? Or do you guys want him to stick with his own personal quirkiness?
