With all the piece of crap movies that have been made out there, it
kind of baffles me that Hollywood waited this long to make a Sherlock
Holmes movie. The pipe-toting detective has made numerous appearances on various TV series iterations, but has not been featured in a full-length feature film since The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes in 1939.
Perhaps its good that we had to wait, since it looks like the studio
did an absolutely knockout job with casting. Robert Downey Jr. and
Jude Law are both good in their own right, and their on-screen
chemistry looks to be oozing with witty charm. I'm glad this film
didn't get made in the early-'00s or we would have ended up with Colin Farrell as Sherlock and Jamie Foxx as Watson. This is the decidedly more action-adventure-oriented trailer that the studio tacked onto Harry Potter. The film is directed by Guy Ritchie and will be released this Christmas.
