Next year's highly anticipated comedy Paul is the story of two sci-fi nerds on a road trip to Comic-Con who along the way pick up an alien named Paul. Written by and starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, the plot sounds promising, and with director Greg Mottola's influence you've got a bona fide buzz movie. Well it just got worse. Variety is reporting that Jason bateman, Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig and Jane Lynch have joined the cast, with Seth Rogen providing the voice of the alien.
It seems to me like comedy movies are turning incestuous. I can't remember the last comedy I saw that didn't have Will Ferrel, Seth Rogen or Paul Rudd in it. I know people talk about this "fraternity" they have but I think there is actually an internment camp with horrible living conditions where directors show up with film crews and force the same 20 actors to mass produce comedies.
