The Happytime Murders will be a new product out of the Jim Henson Co., new as in their latest, and new as in they've never done it before. You see Happytime will be a murder mystery involving muppets.
The muppets will be set in a world where humans and muppets co-exist with the muppets taking a backseat to the humans. The story goes as this, "the puppet cast of an '80s children's TV show called The Happytime Gang begins to get murdered one by one, [and] a disgraced puppet LAPD detective turned private eye -- with a drinking problem, no less -- takes on the case." But things won't all be serious, apparently the Henson Co. plans to take a page out of the Avenue Q book of fun and mix it up with equal parts Pulp Fiction and L.A. Confidential.
Now we'd buy that for a dollar, and here's to hoping Jason Segel much success with his muppety endeavors as well.
