Zack and Miri Make a Porno - (63% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes) Pick of the Week
We could tell you guys all about it, or you could just click on our REVIEW HERE.
RocknRolla - (57% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes)
Guy Ritchie returns to his roots with this cockney crime caper starring Gerard Butler and Tom Wilkinson. In London, a real-estate scam puts millions of pounds up for grabs, attracting some of the city's scrappiest tough guys and its more established underworld types, all of whom are looking to get rich quick. The plot involves guns, sex, Russian mobsters, and every other thing that made us love Guy in the first place.
Changeling - (53% on Rotten Tomatoes)
A historical thriller from Oscar-winning director Clint Eastwood. Angelina Jolie stars as a mother whose son disappears in 1928 Los Angeles. When he returns months later, she realizes that he is not her child and her quest for the truth begins. With the reviews, I think it's safe to call this thing busted Oscar bait. That or most critics are tired of plots involving kidnapped children and showy acting.
The Haunting of Molly Hartley - (Not Screened for the Press)
Most girls can't wait for their 18th birthday, but not Molly Hartley. As the day approaches, danger begins to mount for the teen, and a secret from her past might be the key to the horror in her present. When she was a kid her parents sold her soul to the Devil. Oops, we spoiled it. It seems a whole lot like TV's Reaper, but without the awesome acting and humor.
My Name is Bruce (Limited Release) - (Not Screened for Press)
Typically we only give you what's hitting the national scene at The Movie Press, but this week we felt compelled to tell you about Bruce 'The Chin' Campbell's new movie that's coming out in limited release this weekend. Gold Lick, Oregon is a relatively quiet place, until a monster arrives hellbent on killing everyone. One of the townspeople survives an attack, kidnaps his idol, Bruce, and asks him to save the community. Bruce embraces the idea thinking it's all a hoax, until he comes face to face with his reality and tries to rise above it as the town savior.
