Hotel for Dogs - (42% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes)
In this family film, Emma Roberts leads a star-filled cast that includes Kyla Pratt, Lisa Kudrow, Kevin Dillon, and Don Cheadle. A pair of orphaned siblings (Roberts and Jake T. Austin) are forced to give up their beloved dog when they move into a foster home. But since they can't stand to live without him, they turn a closed hotel into a home for their dog--and any other strays they can find. Critical consensus tells us Hotel for Dogs may appeal to children and dog lovers, but it's ultimately contrived, predictable, and simplistic.
Paul Blart: Mall Cop - (27% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes)
As a mall security guard, Paul Blart is devoted to keeping crime and mischief out of the New Jersey shopping center where he works, even if he isn't allowed to wear a gun. But Santa's helpers decide to be naughty, taking Paul's loved ones hostage, so he has to use all his training to save them. The trailers looks terrible, my personal interest in this film is in the negative levels and critical consensus tells us Paul Blart: Mall Cop has some laughs, but its plot is flimsy and lacking in any sustained comic momentum.
