Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - (87% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes)
Inspired by Ron and Judi Barrett's beloved children's book of the same name, follows inventor Flint Lockwood (voice of Bill Hader) and brainy weathergirl Sam Sparks (voice of Anna Faris) as they attempt to discover why the rain in their small town has stopped while food is falling in its place. It's also got the voices of Andy Samberg and Mr. T as a by the books cop! Critics agree the film is quirky humor, with plucky characters and solid slapstick that make this family comedy a frenetically tasty time at the movies.
Jennifer's Body - (40% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes)
Small town high school student Jennifer (Megan Fox), is possessed by a hungry demon. She goes from being high school bitch to full on demon whore. The glittering beauty becomes a pale and sickly creature jonesing for a meaty snack, and guys who never stood a chance with the heartless babe, take on new luster in the light of Jennifer's insatiable appetite. Critics are saying Jennifer's Body features occasionally clever dialogue but the horror/comic premise fails to be either funny or scary enough to satisfy.
Love Happens - (15% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes)
Aaron Eckhart and Jennifer Aniston star in the romantic drama where a self-help author arrives in Seattle to teach a sold-out seminar, he unexpectedly meets the one person who might finally be able to help him help himself. It seems like they should have gone with the tried and true "shit happens" so at least they could excuse the film. Critics seem to agree its a relatively limp romantic film with little chemistry and surprisingly little love.
