The Day the Earth Stood Still (24% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes) Pick of the Week
Sure its reviews aren't the best, but for this pick of the week we went with what we were most excited about since we didn't get around to reviewing anything for you. In this remake of the 1951 sci-fi classic, Keanu Reeves stars as the alien who comes to earth. Many critics are calling it a CGI overloaded film with little substance. We, on the other hand, don't care because there is something about that wooden mug of Keanu's that makes uswant to watch his big budget outings. Why? Because Constantine was awesome.
Delgo - (16% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes)
The oft delayed, non publicized, poorly reviewed Delgo finally hits screens this weekend, and from the looks of it, no one is going to care. The land of Jhamora is torn apart by the mutual prejudice of two peoples—the winged Nohrin, masters of the skies, and the terrestrial Lockni, who harness the mystical powers of the land. With talent like Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt how can this not open at number one, right?
Nothing Like the Holidays - (51% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes)
It's Christmastime, and the far-flung members of the Rodriguez family are converging at their parents' home in Chicago to celebrate the season and rejoice in their youngest brother's safe return from combat overseas. John Leguizamo, Freddie Rodriguez, Alfred Molina, and Debra Messing star in this Latin-themed generic holiday film that has little to offer outside its talent.
