Continuing the trend of children's toys and games being made into
major motion picture films, LEGO has agreed to terms with Warner Bros. to make a feature length, LEGO-inspired film. The screenplay is being written by Dan and Kevin Hageman, who wrote the screenplay for Carpe Demon: Adventures of a Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom (holy shit why have I not seen this movie?). The plot is said to be 'top secret.'
Normally I'd be incredibly skeptical of such an idea but the LEGO
video games are a ridiculous amount of fun and I can't even count the number of hours I spent playing with LEGOs as a kid. No word on if the film is live action or not but I can only assume it will be computer animated. With so many different lego sets, the bigger question is where will the plot go? Space? The race track? Robin Hood's forest? I imagine our hero trying to rebuild his vehicle after it breaks apart but not being able to find the right building block amongst a huge pile of other LEGOs.
