So Marvel Studios has made it official, they've got Robert Downey Jr. locked up in a four picture deal, and they plan to use the shit out of him. Marvel just sent out a press release confirming that Downey will be in both Iron Man 2, due out May 7, 2010, and The Avengers, due out July 15, 2011.
But wait, that's not all. The release also states that Don Cheadle is official for replacing Terrence Howard as Rhodes, and will also be reprising his role from Iron Man 2 in The Avengers as well.
The Avengers will bring together the superhero team of Marvel Comics characters for the first time ever, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, the Hulk, and more as they are forced to band together to battle the biggest foe they've ever faced. No word yet on Edward Norton's involvement as the Hulk.
