Gil Kenan (Monster House, City of Ember) is teaming back up with Robert Zemeckis to bring the children's tale, Airman, to the big screen.
The swashbuckling, scientific story centers on Conor Broekhart, a young man born in a hot air balloon to a family close to the king, who has a penchant for looking to the skies for inspiration. After his tutor and king are murdered, Broekhart spends two years in prison, escapes, and must decide whether to should turn his back on those who abandoned him or fight those who plot to overthrow the government.
Zemeckis again is acting as producer while Kenan takes the reigns directing on this performance capture feature. Monster House was a delight in the vein of The Goonies and The Burbs, and the City of Ember's trailers are registering a desire to watch it, so this seems like good news. Your take?
