Iron Man- (Pick of the Week)

Loaded with extras, and featuring BD-live on blu ray, the man of iron is back for your at home consumption. RDJ was masterful, the action was packed, and we couldn't be more excited about the sequel. I guess we'll just have to just tide ourselves over with all these deleted scenes and behind the camera documentaries.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Hilarious and heartfelt. If you didn't see this in the theater you really owe it to yourself to check out this Judd Apatow-produced comedy starring Veronica Mars' Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, and How I Met Your Mother's resident funnyman Jason Segel. If you've ever been dumped, this movie will make you laugh.

Or get the Apatow three pack of this, Knocked Up, and The 40-Year Old Virgin for an extra $25. ($12.50 each for two extra blu rays ain't bad)

Numb3rs - The Complete Fourth Season

David Krumholtz and Rob Morrow return to use their mathematical skills to solve unique crimes for the FBI. You either already a fan or you're not.

My Name is Earl - Season 3

Follow Jason Lee as a ne'er do well who wins $100,000 in the lottery and decides to right all the wrongs from his past with his new found realization. In this season, Earl is in prison and bumping into his old buddies but still trying to do the right thing.

The Godfather Trilogy (Pick of the Week)

The greatest movie ever made splashes onto the Hi-Def scene in a very big way. Instead of talking about why you should buy it, we went ahead and posted a before and after restoration shot. We chose the left side because, before they restored it, there was a huge scratch on the film that we'd prefer never see again.

Sex and the City

While most viewers of the very beloved HBO series love this film, it may not be for the truly devote at heart. Sex and the City: the Movie sucks out the life, wit, and feminism the show had in leaps and bounds. Fellas, maybe rent it for your girlfriend to show her how sensitive to her needs you are,  and then pretend it's not sucking the soul out of you. Seriously, I could not pay Greg money to see this movie, and even I was dearly, dearly disappointed in it. Rent it if you must, but I prefer to leave the storylines where the show ended: sweet, funny, and charming.

Boston Legal: Season 4

The civil law spinoff of The Practice starring the award-decorated William Shatner and James Spader. Some argue this is their best season yet as they continue their antics by bringing the most outrageous and improbable cases to court.

Brothers and Sisters - The Complete Second Season

Enter the fascinating world of the Walkers and explore what is means to be an American family in the 21st century. Though they live very different and conflicting lives the Walkers find unity under the family roof. Relationships bend but never break as they strive to find their own identities and embrace each other's differences. Calista Flockhart Sally Field Rachel Griffiths and Ron Rifkin lead a stellar cast in ABC s critically-acclaimed hit. (Something that generic means I've never seen it, and I know nothing of it.)

Two and a Half Men - The Complete Fourth Season

Jon Cryer and Charlie Sheen star in the improbable hit based on a son, his father, and his uncle all living together. This show makes me quake with anger with how bad it is, and I tremble at the thought of more people watching this. I'm convinced that child is being force fed in a veal shack to keep him young looking and tender. Charlie Sheen should have better things to do.

L.A. Confidential - Collectors Edition & Blu-Ray

Curtis Hanson directs Kevin Spacey, Russell Crowe, Guy Pierce, Kim Basinger, James Cromwell, David Straithairn, and Danny Devito in this 1997 best picture nominee. Isn't that enough? The story follows the investigation of a shooting at an all night diner. Everything is very Off the record, on the QT, and very hush-hush...

CSI:NY - The Fourth Season

The only one of the C.S.I. shows to not win an Emmy. I'm not sure if this one is one of the endless spin-offs or one of the originals. Anyways if you have ever accidentally seen a C.S.I. you know what to expect, except change the backdrop to New York, change the crimes to muggers, murders, and mob stuff and BAM! You got yourself C.S.I.:NY. If that's up your alley, then I'm sure you are already sold on it.

Leatherheads

A romantic comedy set in the world of 1920s football, where the player and coach of a professional team drafts a strait-laced college sensation American war hero to bolster interest, only to watch hero boy vie for the affections of the lady journalist covering it all. It's whacky, it's goofy, it's screwbally, and it's not a total waste of your time. George Clooney directs and is a significant letdown after the likes of Good Night, and Good Luck and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, but if you like Down with Love, mix it with some 1920s and football, well you might have yourself a date night planned.

Run, Fatboy, Run

David Schwimmer directs Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz star Simon Pegg in this romantic comedy where Pegg attempts to win back the girl he so desperately ran away at the altar from, you guessed it, winning a marathon  to prove his affections. I could explain how they get there, but that ruins the only fun of the movie. The supporting cast is humorous, and many of the situations will provide a solid chuckle to an otherwise formulaic film that is well worth a rental.

Speed Racer (Pick of the Week)

Is it the best movie ever? Certainly not, but Speed Racer was about as much mindless fun you could have had at the theater this summer, and box office patrons totally bypassed it. Why? Sure it's a bit overlong, and sometimes it does pander only to the kiddies, but the rest of the time it's white knuckled, badass racing with some generally wholesome and connectible themes. Sometimes the Pick of the Week is for the best movie; this time it's used as a spotlight to get people to look in their rear view to see the Speed Racer they missed.

Pushing Daisies Season 1

Whimsical, wacky and fun. The story centers on a pie-maker who grew up and discovered he had the ability to reanimate dead things with his touch. However should he touch that thing again, it would instantly die and should he keep anything alive for more than 60 seconds, then something else's life must be taken to compensate. We find our piem-aker who has just accidentally kept the girl he fell in love with as a child back to life for too long. Now they have this awkward sweet romance in which they must find inventive ways to be intimate without touching. It's sweet, charming, and made by the creators of Wonderfalls and Dead Like Me.

Made of Honor

Dempsey takes on the Julia Robert's role in My Best Friend's Wedding, only this time the roles are reversed with the man as the one who realizes he's in love with the best friend who asks him to be part of her wedding. Oh man, what a reversal! Never saw, so you will have to tell me how it was.

Chuck - The Complete First Season

I saw the first couple of episodes of this guy who works a computer job, but accidentally gets government secrets downloaded into his brain and is now a secret agent, and then I quit. I am told however by Darcie that it picks up quite a bit and is quite enjoyable, so I'm going back and giving it a second look.

Torchwood - The Complete Second Season

Doctor Who spin off and anagram in which Captain Jack Harkness, the former Time Agent and con man from the 51st century last seen traveling with the Doctor, ventures to early 21st century Cardiff. There, he becomes a member of Torchwood Institute, a renegade criminal investigation group founded by Queen Victoria to battle hostile extraterrestrial and supernatural threats. I've heard good things and it's on my radar to watch.

Dirty Sexy Money: Season 1

It's got Peter Krause from Six Feet Under in it! I'll give almost anything with a SFU alumn in it a chance. Netflix ho! In it a lawyer is forced to take care of one of New York City's wealthiest families. Drama! Excitement! Double crosses and sexual conquests!

Private Practice - The Complete First Season

Spinoff of Grey's Anatomy, and I think you all seemed to get my impression of that when I described it's D release.

88 Minutes

Pacino doing is old Pacino thing for those of you who didn't get enough of it this past weekend with him doing it in front of Robert De Niro. This film is also directed by Jon Avnet and was equally panned upon it's initial release.

The Love Guru: Special Edition

Mike Myers stars as Pitka an American raised outside of his country by gurus, returns to the States in order to break into the self-help business. His first challenge: To settle the romantic troubles and subsequent professional skid of a star hockey player whose wife left him for a rival athlete. It is an early front runner for this Fall's Razzy awards for worst picture, actor, and writing. So obviously it's on my Netflix list.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Sneak In Mention)

Yeah, yeah. So it's not actually a DVD or Blu Ray release, but I figured what is being hailed as one of the best Star Wars stories realized in the past ten years was worth mentioning to you story loving DVD buyers and moviephiles. This one picks up between episodes III and IV in which you play the role of Darth Vader's secret Apprentice and are dispatched to rid the galaxy of the Jedi. It sounds awesome, it looks awesome, and the demo was pretty awesome. It's available today on Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Season 3 (Pick of the Week)

Funniest show on T.V. PERIOD. It's racist, sexist, offensive, retarded, hilarious, and strangely intelligent with its social commentary. It's about three idiots who own a bar, one of their sisters, and the siblings' father. They get into trouble like becoming addicted to crack or impersonating police officers while manipulating people out of money and favors. Just buy all three seasons and thank me later.

Grey's Anatomy: Complete Fourth Season

That show that everyone watches with that lady from that one movie. You know, they work in a hospital and then that black dude left because he called that other dude that bad name. Remember when that dude with the good hair kissed that one girl and that other person cried? You either already like Grey's or you don't, so we're not going to waste our time trying to sell it to you.

Smallville - The Complete Seventh Season

Remember way back when this show premiered and Tom Welling was a 25 year old playing 16? Well, the show has reached seven seasons and, Welling is now a comfortable 40 year old playing..what? 22? Things are getting weird, convoluted and overly long on Smallville and it's time the show left the airwaves. Rosenbaum has better things to be doing with his time.

Ugly Betty - The Complete Second Season

I hate this show. I heard it was very well done and hilarious, so I Netflixed it. I got all the discs, started watching, made it through maybe an episode before I stuffed them all back in their envelopes and sent them far, far away. I hear some people find it funny though.

The Forbidden Kingdom

Jet Li? Jackie Chan? Same movie? You betcha. While it isn't the greatest movie ever, and these two certainly deserve a better backdrop for their work, it is certainly an enjoyable enough diversion for an evening of martial arts fighting. Plus it's got that Stronghold kid from Sky High, and I liked me some Sky High.

Baby Mama

Already on my Netflix and coming. With that said, I'm embarrassed to say I want to see it, but I have zero expectations for this film. Tina Fey can't get pregnant so she hires Amy Poehler's white trash character to be her surrogate. Hilarity ensues.

The Fall

Tarsem Singh directed The Cell which is remembered for it's stunning photography, effects, and costuming, as well as being the time before Jennifer Lopez drove everyone nuts. Pushing Daisies' pie-maker, Lee Pace, stars as an injured stuntman in a 1920 hospital who begins to tell a fellow patient, a little girl with a broken arm (Untaru), a fantastical story about five mythical heroes. Thanks to his fractured state of mind and her vivid imagination, the line between fiction and reality starts to blur as the tale advances.

The Promotion (Pick of the Week)

Kinda like a reverse Office Space, where the guys working there actually want to keep working there. It's a tragic comedy with some genuine laughs. John C. Reily is mega awesome and shares quite a bit of chemistry with Sean William Scott, it's the little indie that could and deserves a look.

The Office - Season Four

That funny show thats on TV that's based on that even funnier Brittish show of the same name. Yeah, the new season is out.

Transformers (2-disc Blu Ray)

Robot fights blasts its way onto Blu Ray. Loaded with all the extras of the HD-DVD, but now on the format people actually own.

Supernatural - The Complete Third Season

After the mysterious disappearance of their father, two brothers seek out and combat paranormal and supernatural events to figure the meaning linking their mother's death whom was killed years earlier by a mysterious demon.

Desperate Housewives - The Complete Fourth Season

Those five ladies on Wysteria lane act likes bitches, bang dudes, and do all sorts of double crosses for another season. It's like if Skelator was a tempermental lady and retired to a suburban neighborhood and liked to bang dudes...for five seasons.

The Big Bang Theory - The Complete First Season

A woman who moves into an apartment next door to two brilliant but socially awkward physicists shows them how little they know about life outside of the laboratory.  Haven't seen it but I hear it's actually worth a watch.

The Ghost Whisperer - The Complete Third Season

A newlywed with the ability to communicate with the earthbound spirits of the recently deceased overcomes skepticism and doubt to help send their important messages to the living and allow the dead to pass on to the other side. I'm guessing you're either already into it, or you make fun of it. I for some reason thought she talked to horses...I don't know why.

Then She Found Me

Mathew Broderick is midly annoying, Helen Hunt is getting kind of old (both her face and her schtick), and Colin Firth is awesome as always. This is an indie, directed by Hunt about a NYC schoolteacher having a midlife crisis after her adoptive mother dies, her husband leaves, and all in the midst of her trying to get pregnant.

Eli Stone: The Complete First Season

Johnny Lee Miller stars as San Francisco lawyer Eli Stone as he begins to see things, which leads him to discover a brain aneurysm. But his visions lead him to accept cases with little monetary gain but a lot of moral goodness. Also he sees George Michael perform, I'd buy that for a dollar.

Married Life

Starring Chris Cooper, Patricia Clarkson, Pierce Brosnan, and Rachel McAdams, with promises of suspense, comedy, and romance set in 1949, it might be worth a spin.
