Joaquin and James Gray are not lovers 03/30/2009
![]() Two Lovers, which opened right before Valentine's Day and stars Joaquin Phoenix and Gwyneth Paltrow, has grossed little more than $2 million (including a whopping $94,986 on opening weekend), which probably isn't even enough to covering the food the crew ate on set while they made the movie. Now writer and director James Gray is blaming Joaquin Phoenix for the flim's shortcomings, and not himself for making a shitty movie. CommentsMon, 30 Mar 2009 14:19:26 I haven't seen Two Lovers yet, but I've heard from quite a few people that it was really good. And, seriously, this whole Joaquin thing is an Andy Kaufman-esque ruse. He and Casey are playing the whole world. That's the only explanation for the absolute weirdness. Is Gray in on it?
