So, this is all probably a hoax, but apparently there is some sort of leak and no one knows the source. I wouldn't advise putting any money on this, but it certainly warrants a view, and maybe side betting with your friends and family. I dunno how I got so sucked into all this Twilight casting drama, but somehow I did, so we might as well play it out all the way.

The newest rumor on the block is whether Vanessa "You've seen my cooter on the internet" Hudgens will play the role of disgruntled werewolf Leah Clearwater in the upcoming Twilight sequel New Moon. While, okay Hudgens does look a little like the female counterpart to Taylor Lautner, she'll have to (sigh) bring some acting chops to the role of  a girl dumped by her love who becomes the only female werewolf of her tribe. I mean the acting was soooooo good y'all in the first flick. The rumor got started when Twilight's Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen, told MTV at a Golden Globes afterparty that Hudgens has actually auditioned for the role. "I think she'd be great," MTV quotes Greene as saying of Hudgens. Somewhere 'tween girls are crying hysterically.

As for rumor No. 2, this one actually makes my '80s-loving heart soar a bit. Glenn Gordon Caron, the creator of Moonlighting is apparently determined to reunite Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis for a 20th anniversary Moonlighting TV movie. The most surprising aspect of this is that Bruce Willis, who went on to become one of the biggest movie stars in the world, has shown definite interest. An insider says, "Bruce is ready to give it a go. He still holds a lot of fondness for the show." Like the other recent '80s remakes (Romancing the Stone, Footloose, Ghostbusters, and Arthur, just to name a few), I'm slightly wary about this. It could either elevate the show in my mind, or suck the wind out of it (cough cough Indy IV).

ZDONK is reporting that Alan Rickman is set to join Tim Burton's remake of Alice in Wonderland as the hookah-smoking, wise caterpillar. While we normally try to reserve our excitement for official announcements, we already had quite the celebration. Rickman has the perfect voice for the Caterpillar and oozes charm (hello, Sense and Sensibility).

Some other noteworthy news about the film: Alice is being played by 18 year old Austrailian actress, Mia Wasikowska; Anne Hathaway plays the White Queen; Helena Bonham Carter plays the Red Queen, which we reported to you Movie Pressers a couple of weeks ago.

Other cast includes: Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter; Crispin Glover as the Knave of Hearts; Michael Sheen as the Cheshire Cat; and Matt Lucas (HBO’s Little Britain) as Tweedledee and Tweedledum.

The film, which will blend live action with CGI, motion capture, and 3D and is set for a 2010 release.

It seems that in the wake of The Dark Knight viral marketing campaign we are left to deal with the rumor hurricane regarding what lies ahead for The Batman.

Last we heard was Sir Michael Caine confirmed that Johnny Depp and Phillip Seymour Hoffman were good to go as The Riddler and Penguin. Well, it seems as though Mr. Hoffman has decided to comment on the developing situation.

“No one has talked to me about it ever — never,” replied Hoffman. “It happened, like, five years ago, too. It was a rumor back then and it’s still a rumor. [laughs] It’s just in the press. It’s funny.”

Does that mean he's not the Penguin and never will be? Probably, but Caine could have also been told what the studios plans were and they have yet to approach Hoffman. Or we could just be latching onto hopes and dreams of another spectacular ensemble in the best comic book franchise currently still in stride.
