Hugh Jackman Hulks up in "Wolverine" trailer 02/16/2009

Check out one of the newest TV spots for the upcoming Wolverine movie. You get to see some Wolvy flashbacks and though I'm normally pretty suspect of child actors, I'll let this one slide because it's little Wolverine and he has BONE CLAWS! Check it out and let us know what you think.

The Undefeatable Jason Vorhees. Box Office Results 02/16/2009

That's right America, you're officially sick and twisted. You helped the unrelenting murderer lurch and hack his way to the top of the Valentine's Day Box Office. But what about all those sweet and loving films, like He's Just Not That Into You and Confessions of a Shopaholic? Well they are there too, but you seemed to really be into romancing your sweeties while Liam Neeson saved his daughter again, and/or watching dumb people get killed. What's up with that? Run on over to our Box Office Results Section and check it all out.

The International - (57% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes) Pick of the Week

Interpol Agent Louis Salinger (Clive Owen) and Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Eleanor Whitman (Naomi Watts) are determined to bring to justice one of the world’s most powerful banks. Uncovering myriad and reprehensible illegal activities, Salinger and Whitman follow the money from Berlin to Milan to New York to Istanbul. Despite a funny looking trailer it appears as though critics have found some positive things to say about the Tom Twyker (Run Lola Run) film saying The International boasts some electric action sequences and picturesque locales, but is undone by its preposterous plot.

Confessions of a Shopaholic
- (19% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes)

In the glamorous world of New York City, Rebecca Bloomwood (Isla Fischer) is a fun-loving girl who dreams of working for her favorite fashion magazine, but can’t quite get her foot in the door –- until ironically, she snags a job as an advice columnist for a financial magazine published by the same company. The cast list seems like it might be good but critical consensus tells us this middling romantic comedy underutilizes a talented cast and delivers muddled messages on materialism and conspicuous consumption.

Friday the 13th - (24% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes)

This just in....Christopher Nolan hates you! 02/12/2009

...Or loves you, depending upon how you feel about Nolan's non-Batman outtings. That's right team, Nolan is coming back as director of...Inception. WHA?! Yes, he is taking a film break away from the Batman series and is currently planning to direct a script he wrote called Inception, a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind. Rumor has circulated that the film is revolving around a war for the colonization of Venus, but who knows if you can trust rumor.

Color us excited, because last time Nolan stepped away for a breath of fresh air he brought us the outstanding Prestige. So while Inception looks to shoot this year for a 2010 release date, we will be left wanting for another Batman sequel until at least 2011.

Yup that's right, you can watch the whole thing now. Yahoo Movies was good enough to provide the goods because frankly watching the recording of a dude with his camera phone pointed at the television just wasn't cutting it. Click on the link HERE and the come on back and let us know what you think. WWII, violence, Pitt, and Tarantino...color us excited.

Forbes: Will Smith most bankable star in Hollywood. Us: no shit 02/11/2009
0 Comments

Forbes magazine recently named Will Smith the most bankable star in Hollywood according to industry insiders who rated actors on who can most easily attract financing, theatrical distribution and an audience. This really comes as no surprise, considering Smith's least successful movie of the past ten years was Ali, and that still made $61 million domestically. So get ready to see Will Smith save the world from aliens and/or inspire the world by being sad every Christmas and Fourth of July for the next several years.

Getting drunk on that "Rum Diary" 02/10/2009

The already strong cast of The Rum Diary just got a bit stronger with the addition of Richard Jenkins and the strong speculation that Aaron Eckhart will soon be confirmed as well. Bruce Robinson is writing and directing The Rum Diary, the story of journalist Hunter S. Thompson, that has confirmed the passionate Johnny Depp as Thompson and Amber Heard as his free spirited love interest. Early reports indicate Jenkins would play Depp's editor at the newspaper while Eckhart would play the third corner of a love triangle between Depp and Heard. However this turns out, I would glady be involved with any love triangle involving this cast.

"Inglourious Basterds" trailer of the trailer for the trailer 02/10/2009
0 Comments

Last night Greg and I had the pleasure of screening Friday the 13th (review to come) and were treated to the trailer for Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds. The premise of the movie is awesome — a crack team of US special forces is led by Brad Pitt into Nazi Germany disguised as civilians to brutalize Nazis in order to make others think twice about joining the cause — and with Tarantino at the helm you know it's going to hold your attention for two hours. The biggest problem I see thus far, and this may seem like a small issue but trust me, is that Pitt's accent is flat out lousy and overwhelmingly annoying. The trailer isn't available yet online, but as soon as it is, you'll understand. Or you can watch Entertainment Tonight and watch it live....or watch this little snippet. The trailer for the trailer if you will.

"Observe" Seth Rogen's newest trailer! 02/09/2009

Yeah, we think two movies about mall cops are two too many, but, what the hell, we love Seth Rogen. That fucker makes us laugh. Throw in some Ray Liotta, and sure we'll go see Observe and Report. Check out the fairly hilarious red band trailer over at EW.com. Then mosey back on over and tell us what you think. Why do we have a soft spot for Anna Faris? Don't judge...
