In this family film,  Emma Roberts leads a star-filled cast that includes Kyla Pratt, Lisa Kudrow, Kevin Dillon, and Don Cheadle. A pair of orphaned siblings (Roberts and Jake T. Austin) are forced to give up their beloved dog when they move into a foster home. But since they can't stand to live without him, they turn a closed hotel into a home for their dog--and any other strays they can find. Critical consensus tells us Hotel for Dogs may appeal to children and dog lovers, but it's ultimately contrived, predictable, and simplistic.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop - (27% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes)

As a mall security guard, Paul Blart is devoted to keeping crime and mischief out of the New Jersey shopping center where he works, even if he isn't allowed to wear a gun. But Santa's helpers decide to be naughty, taking Paul's loved ones hostage, so he has to use all his training to save them. The trailers looks terrible, my personal interest in this film is in the negative levels and critical consensus tells us Paul Blart: Mall Cop has some laughs, but its plot is flimsy and lacking in any sustained comic momentum.

CBS Films has greenlit its first movie, bringing on Brendan Fraser to star opposite Harrison Ford in a medical drama and setting an early April start date. Okay, yeah, we know what you're thinking. Brendan Fraser in a medical drama?! WTF? But lest you forget, in between all the George of the Jungle hoo ha and Mummy mayhem (and before losing his hair and then getting plugs...allegedly, we mean), Fraser was in a little drama we like to remind you of: Gods and Monsters. And homeboy was gooood in it, so let's move on.

Fraser will play John Crowley, the father of two children who were diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder for which he's told there is no cure. Unbowed, he seeks out the help of an experimental and sometimes irascible doctor (Ford) who works to find a way to save the children's lives. The tale is inspired by a true story.

CBS Films chief Amy Baer oversaw development of the project at Sony and said she was drawn to its resonance. "It's an inspirational drama with universally relatable themes," she said. "It's the kind of story where, like an Erin Brockovich or a Pursuit of Happyness, people want to go on the journey because they want to accomplish that for themselves."

So The Karate Kid remake/re-imagining is starting to come together and in addition to having the Will Smith offspring, it appears as though producers are in talks with Jackie Chan to play the iconic Mr. Miyagi role. Who's directing this A-class picture you might ask? Well none other than Agent Cody Banks helmer Harald Zwart. Color us excited...or enraged, yeah that was the word we were looking for.

Word is spreading that the coolest man to hit the silver screen is finally getting a biopic...that's right, Steve Mcqueen. Who is writing it? Who is directing it? Who is going to be McQueen? No one knows. But the folks over at EW introduced one of the most brilliant ideas I could think of. Check it out HERE. Of course one would only have to look over at Damian Lewis' fan blog to see his people thought of this idea long before EW did. (check it OUT) But any way you slice it, we like the idea of enlisting the services of this Band of Brother star to bring the story of the man who lived fast and hard to the big screen. What do you guys think?

I dunno how I got so sucked into all this Twilight casting drama, but somehow I did, so we might as well play it out all the way.

The newest rumor on the block is whether Vanessa "You've seen my cooter on the internet" Hudgens will play the role of disgruntled werewolf Leah Clearwater in the upcoming Twilight sequel New Moon. While, okay Hudgens does look a little like the female counterpart to Taylor Lautner, she'll have to (sigh) bring some acting chops to the role of  a girl dumped by her love who becomes the only female werewolf of her tribe. I mean the acting was soooooo good y'all in the first flick. The rumor got started when Twilight's Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen, told MTV at a Golden Globes afterparty that Hudgens has actually auditioned for the role. "I think she'd be great," MTV quotes Greene as saying of Hudgens. Somewhere 'tween girls are crying hysterically.

As for rumor No. 2, this one actually makes my '80s-loving heart soar a bit. Glenn Gordon Caron, the creator of Moonlighting is apparently determined to reunite Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis for a 20th anniversary Moonlighting TV movie. The most surprising aspect of this is that Bruce Willis, who went on to become one of the biggest movie stars in the world, has shown definite interest. An insider says, "Bruce is ready to give it a go. He still holds a lot of fondness for the show." Like the other recent '80s remakes (Romancing the Stone, Footloose, Ghostbusters, and Arthur, just to name a few), I'm slightly wary about this. It could either elevate the show in my mind, or suck the wind out of it (cough cough Indy IV).

Thoughts on these two rumors?

This week's column could also be titled, "Who Gives a Rat's Ass Tuesday" or "Stuff Nobody Watched", because frankly, it's not that great of a Tuesday for you DVD and Blu-Ray collectors out there. There's a lot of Tyler Perry, quite a bit of Dane Cook, and some Jason Biggs even snuck its way in there. But every Tuesday has a silver lining, and we found our pick of the week somewhere. So head on over to our DVD Release Section and check 'em out.

What did I tell you? Racism and guns with the all American geriatric Clint Eastwood couldn't lose. What's more, is it's Eastwood's biggest opening of his career and the third biggest January opening of all time...not too shabby for a 78-year old. Feel free to run on over to our Box Office Results section and check out how Bride Wars, The Unborn and all the others fared over the weekend.
